Trish Joyce is a nurse consultant in the haematology service at the Peter Mac/Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre, Melbourne, Australia. She has worked in inpatient and outpatient settings caring for patients and their families who are living with a blood cancer diagnosis for the past 25 years. She completed a masters degree by research in health science in 2006. Her thesis explored quality of life issues in patients treated with autologous stem cell transplantation. A recommendation of the thesis was the establishment of a post-transplant nurse-led clinic to better address the supportive care needs of patients recovering from a transplant and this was implemented in 2012. In 2015 Trish was one of the clinical leads involved in the successful introduction and establishment of the low-risk neutropenic fever program at Peter Mac. In the last 12 months she has transitioned into a nurse practitioner candidate role. Trish currently works with other nurse consultants who lead the delivery of nurse-led care to patients living with myeloma.
